STEPS TO GET YOUR CCW LICENSE [Summary]

1.     Take a CCW Gun Basic Class consisting of 10 hours class and 2 hours of range time, conducted by licensed NRA or OPOTA instructor.

•  Check to make sure the instructor(s) are licensed before signing up.

2.     Take the Certificate issued from the class to your local sheriff office, or surrounding county, and fill out application for License.

•  The cost in Clark County Ohio is $67 + $5 for picture.

3.     The Sheriff will do a NIX background check, and when you are cleared they will issue your CHL License, which appears much like a driver's license.


Note: The Clark County Ohio Sheriff office only accepts Bank Check, Certified Check or Money Orders
for CCW Fee - NO CASH or PERSONAL CHECKS.

Check with your local Sheriff Office for what forms of payment they will accept; their hours of operation;
if they can take pictures or you should bring your own; as well as any other Requirements.
